She's a 10!

Chloe is 10 months old and acting less and less like an infant and more and more like a toddler.

She is walking without holding on to anything. Most of the time she needs to crawl to the couch or wall to stand up and then off she goes, but a couple of times we have seen her stand up all by herself.  Her favorite thing to do is walk in circles around the ottoman or a chair while holding her stuffed animals. She has recently discovered stuffed animals and loves them (which is a good thing because we have a ton of them). She even has started sleeping with a few stuffed animals at night--usually Muk Muk (one of the winter olympic mascots), Piggy, or Pink Giraffe.  She has also started to eat with her fingers.  She picks up her "puffs" and puts them in her mouth, chews for a few moments and then spits it out. Every once in a while one goes down into her tummy, but usually they end up all over the floor or stuck to her face.  She eats pretty well and still enjoys zucchini and applesauce the best. We've recently tried kiwi, cauliflower, oranges, acorn squash, and yellow squash. We are combining more foods to make complex meals like sweet potato, carrots, and apricots--which her school just calls orange food.  Sometimes we still get notes from school that she refused her food. But we don't worry to much.

Going out to eat is an interesting challenge.  We do best with order at the counter restaurants like our favorite Mill Ave Eatery--Med Fresh.I found these disposable placemats that we can put down on the table. We put a few puffs down and she stays occupied for a little while.  You'll know if we were in a restaurant--just look for the trail of puffs.

Clapping

Pointing

Saying Dada and sometimes Mama and Baba (which is a bottle-we think)

Speaking Babese or is it Babblese (Baby Language)

Picking up small objects with her thumb and fingers

Playing by herself

Smiling when Mommy or Daddy come into the room

Understanding her name
