Picnic in Prescott

The good part of living in Phoenix in the summer time is that it is easy to get out of the heat. Just a 2 hour drive north to Prescott and we went from 105 degrees to 65 degrees (and yes we were cold). It was Chloe's first road trip and despite one traffic jam, one wrong turn, and a little rain storm --it was a good one. Since we are pretty much home bound this summer--we thought it would be a good idea to get out and visit the places in our own state that we never pay any attention too--for this first trip it was up to Prescott (just about 100 miles north of Phoenix) to the infamous courthouse. It was a beautiful place for a picnic and it happen to be "Frontier Days" with a rodeo in town--so there were plenty of opportunities for people watching with all the belt buckles and cowboy hats walking around. Trying out the "ergo carrier"
Ahhh..the sun has finally come out!

But don't worry, Chloe didn't sunbath for long.
Ahhh....the shade-but I think Chloe needs a bigger head to fit her hat.
We enjoyed roast beef sandwiches with roasted red peppers and goat cheese.

Our pretty picnic place.

On the courthouse steps.

Happy 4th of July!
