Look who is 9 months old!
We have been waiting for the day that Chloe was out of the womb longer than she was in it and we finally have hit the break even point. Chloe spent her 9 month birthday traveling--first by car from South Lake Tahoe to Reno, then by plane from Reno to Phoenix. Her first flight went really well. Thank goodness both flights to and from Reno were not full-so we had an open seat for her to crawl around in. Chloe also got her first taste of airport security. I was carrying her in the ergo carrier and neglected to take off her baby shoes, we were quickly stopped by TSA and had to go back through the metal detector and put her shoes through the x-ray machine. Thank goodness she wasn't randomly selected for further inspection--I would have had to take pictures of her getting patted down by the TSA person.
Nine months has gone by so quickly--way quicker than being pregnant for 9 months. Chloe is developing into a little toddler and much less like an infant. She is standing at every chance she gets and can even walk along the couch or anything else that is at her level. She is still sleeping through the night on and off--but goes to sleep really easily when she does wake up. She loves her signing dog and any other singing toy and even seems to dance a little bit when they are turned on. She is a good player and we can often leave her in her crib or play yard with a few toys and she plays quietly for about 30 minutes or so. She has discovered how to throw but doesn't have much control. She likes to throw her toys out of her crib and then laugh. She is getting a little more liberal with food. She likes limes,
butternut squash, blueberries, and asparagus. We discovered that she really didn't like baby hummus (garbanzo beans) with one projectile vomit episode and a note from school that she refused her food--we'll try again in a few weeks.
We are having so much fun watching her grow and discover the world!
